San Francisco is home to generations of Americans whose families answered Lady Liberty's call and came from abroad to seek their fortune in the Land of the Free. Two of the largest immigrant populations created communities that are a proud part of San Francisco's history - Little Italy and Chinatown.

Our nighttime tour starts with one-to-one Segway training to make sure you're completely safe, then we'll head out into the North Beach neighborhood that's known as Little Italy. Priding itself on authentic Italian fare, the area bustles with life both night and day. We'll stop at Washington Square Park and learn about the Beat Generation, then head out into Chinatown - the largest Chinese community outside of Asia!

Past historic buildings, busy restaurants, and hidden alleys, we'll make our way east to enjoy romantic night views out over the Bay. Treasure Island, the Ferry Building, and the Bay bridges are all visible across the water, making for a breathtaking photo opportunity.

From there, we'll loop back from the edge of the ultra-modern financial district, where all six of San Francisco's Fortune 500 companies and the city's tallest buildings are located, and head towards Fisherman's Wharf and the Waterfront. There, you'll see historic ships and piers, picturesque harbors, and hidden gems, all reflected in the glittering San Francisco Bay. 

And we can't leave the area without a pause to view the stunning Alcatraz Lighthouse shining across the water from the island that's most famous for its inescapable prison!

This nighttime tour through some of San Francisco's most famous areas is chock full of landmarks, romantic sights, history, traditions, and trivia that make it an experience you'll remember for ever!

Guidelines

  • Riders must be aged 12 years or over. Under-18's must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • We have strict weight limits for Segway safety: riders must weigh more than 100lbs (45kg) and less than 250lbs (113kg). No exceptions.
  • Pregnant riders are not permitted, due to fall risk.

Venue

The tour starts in Fisherman's Wharf (close to Aquatic Park), San Francisco.

Session Length

2.5-hour session, including 45 minutes of Segway training. We run 3 sessions a day from April to October, 2 sessions a day from November to March. Open every day of the year except Christmas Day and New Year. We add up to two more sessions per day as required by demand.

Cancellation policy

Please note cancellations/reschedule requests require a minimum of 24 hours notice prior to activity date. There is a strict no show / no refund policy – you’re advised to arrive 15min earlier than the activity time. If you are not there – you’ll be charged 100% of the activity cost (no refund will be provided).

Dress Code

This is an outdoor tour in San Francisco. Please dress sensibly for the prevailing weather conditions. Comfortable clothes and shoes are recommended. We provide safety helmets and have warm gear available for cold days.
